The Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. is the biggest truly African-American Catholic lay organization in the United States. The Order is named for St. Subside Claver, the Spanish Priest who tended to African slaves. In 2006, a unit was set up in San Andres, Colombia, South America. The Order was established in Mobile, Alabama and is in currently headquartered in New Orleans.
Our organization comprises of six Divisions: Knights of Peter Claver, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Junior Knights, Junior Daughters, fourth Degree Knights and Ladies of Grace. The Order is represented by a Board of Directors and is under the initiative of the Supreme Knight and Supreme Lady, KPCLA. The Order is worked under the course of the Executive Director and his staff.
